Crime Analysis Unit
The Pueblo Police Department hired a new crime analyst effective November 2, 2015. The new Crime Analyst, Kelli Magann produces many valuable reports, such as monthly crime analysis reports for burglaries, robberies and larceny-shoplifting. Crime Analyst Duffy also conducts "hot spot" analyses and produces density maps. These reports assist police officers and detectives with ongoing investigations, and they also assist the command staff with resource allocation decisions. The Crime Analyst works closely with detectives in hosting a monthly loss prevention meeting with local businesses. This meeting serves as a vital tool in identifying serial shoplifters and helps retailers focus resources on commonly stolen items. The result has been a steady decline in the number of shoplifting cases as well as an improved relationship with local loss prevention officers.

Should you have any questions or concerns based on any of the aforementioned services provided by our crime analyst, you are asked to contact the Unit Supervisor, Sergeant Mark Duran at 719-553-2517.
