HON. SCOTT
McINNIS
OF
COLORADO
IN THE HOUSE OF
REPRESENTATIVES
Mr. Speaker, it is my honor to recognize the
excellence of the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility located in Pueblo,
Colorado. The plant is being
awarded the prestigious Platinum Award by the Association of Metropolitan
Sewerage Agencies for outstanding achievement in their field and I would like to
take this opportunity to pay tribute to the commitment and dedication that was
necessary to achieve this goal.
This award is a reflection
of the City of Pueblo's long-standing commitment to serve the people of Pueblo
to the best of their abilities. In
order to receive this top award, the plant has to receive the Gold Award from
the Association of Metropolitan Sewerage Agencies five years in a row. To receive the gold award alone a
facility must have 100% compliance with the standards set by the National
Pollution Discharge Elimination System permit issued by the Environmental
Protection Agency for an entire year.
This year, the plant is one of only twelve out of the whole country who
will be recognized with this high and outstanding honor. Standing along such cities as
Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Chicago, whose funds and resources are among the
top in the nation, it is clear that the hard work and dedication of the
employees of Pueblo's Water Reclamation Facility has paid
off.
Mr. Speaker, the James R.
DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility employees' hard work and commitment to
excellence are an example to public service organizations throughout the
nation. The reclamation facility is
a vital part of the City of Pueblo and insures the health and safety of the
citizens it serves. It is my honor
to bring its excellence to the attention of this body of Congress. I would like to thank the employees of
the James R. DiIorio Water Reclamation Facility and I know that the plant will
continue to lead the field.
