District 2 Representative
Eva Montoya
Pueblo City Council District 2 Representative Eva Montoya has a mission to bring back the
Familia concept to the Pride City Pueblo and its citizens. As a former teacher at District #60 for 25 years, she encourages high expectations for schooling and raising families to become good citizens.
From 1967 to 1976, she was a board member of the American Red Cross, Virginia Neal Blue Resource Center, Parks/Recreation Parent Committee, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Council, Plaza Verde Park Committee, Cinco de Mayo Parade Co-Chair Committee, Spanish/English Instructor, Boys/Girl Scout Troops and PTO-PTSO (Spann-Fountain Elementary).
She was selected as the East Side Commission's Volunteer of the Year from 2008 to 2011 and was featured in an article in
The Pueblo Chieftain entitled "East Side Dynamo" in 2010. In July of 2000 she was named Teacher of the Month by the Latino Chamber of Commerce. She was also named Chicana of the Year in 1976. In 1973 she was awarded the Joe E. Martinez Scholarship (SCSC).
