Lifeguard Certification Classes

American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Classes
Theses classes are for anyone wanting to be a lifeguard. After the successful completion of the class you will be
certified in the following: Life guarding, CPR and First Aid.

The American Red Cross class is for anyone who is already certified as a lifeguard. The class will be held at East High School (9 Mac Neil Road) on December 13-15 from 6:30 pm-9:30 pm. After successful completion of the class you will be certified in the following: Life-guarding, CPR, First-aid, and Emergency Oxygen Administration.

Pre-requisites: Must have a current life guarding certification from American Red Cross or equivalent certification from recognized organization. Must be 16 years of age by December 13, 2018. Must be able to swim 150 yards front crawl and 150 yards breast stroke without stopping, tread water for two minutes without the use of hands, and retrieve a 10 pound object from the bottom of the pool. Fee is $85 in addition to the in-water skills you will be required to complete online homework prior to the start of the class.

CLASS 1: March 19 to 23 (Spring Break)
Monday to Friday (5 days) from 1:00 to 5:00 pm

CLASS 2: April 2 to April 25 (8 nights)
Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:00 to 9:00 pm

Class 3: July 9 to July 20 (10 days)
Monday- Friday 10:30-12:30
Mineral Palace Pool, 1602 N. Santa Fe Ave. 81003
Register by July 3 (Space is limited)
Price is only $95

Pre-requisites: for class #3
1. Must be at least 15 years and 6 months by 7/03/18;
2. Must be able to swim 150 yards of front crawl and 150 yards of breast stroke without stopping;
3. Tread water for two minutes without use of hands; and
4. Ability to retrieve a 10lb object from pool.
